READING, Pa., Oct. 3, 2013—Bob Tasca and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane team return to Maple Grove Raceway this week for the US Auto Plus NHRA Nationals – an event they won in 2009.
Tasca defeated Ron Capps, Robert Hight, John Force and then-John Force Racing driver Mike Neff to earn his second-career win in arguably NHRA’s most-competitive division, Funny Car.
“It’s great to go back to an event you’ve won,” Tasca said. “I have a lot of good memories at this track back through my career and we know the Funny Cars love the oxygen they get at this place. We’re happy to be back in Reading.”
Tasca is currently 11th in the point standings with three races to go in the NHRA Mello Yello Series season. The top 10 drivers in each category are playoff contenders.
Qualifying coverage of the US Auto Plus NHRA Nationals begins at 11:30 p.m. ET on ESPN News Oct. 5, 2013, with an encore from 3:30-5 a.m. ET on ESPN2 the following day.
Race-day coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 6 on ESPN2.

Now headquartered near Charlotte in Concord, N.C., Tasca Racing was founded by legendary Ford dealer Bob Tasca Sr. in Rhode Island in 1962, after he realized the incredible potential of “Race on Sunday, Sell on Monday” during drag racing’s infancy. At 16 years old, Bob Sr. started his first job at a Ford dealership. He opened his own Ford dealership at 27. Seventy years later Tasca Ford still exists, run by the second and third generations of the Tasca family. Bob Tasca III, grandson of Bob Sr., has led the racing branch of the family since 2008 as driver of the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Shelby Mustang Funny Car. When he’s not involved with his race team, Bob III works at the family dealership. The Tasca family is proud to say more than 50 years after Tasca Racing was founded, the phrase “Win on Sunday Sell on Monday” is alive and well within the Tasca team.
