TASCA RACING TO COMPETE IN 4 NHRA NATIONAL EVENTS
CHARLOTTE – TOPEKA – EPPING – CHICAGO

Concord, NC (March 22nd ) – Tasca Racing is excited to announce they will be competing in four NHRA events starting with the Charlotte Four-Wide Nationals in April and then Topeka, Epping, and Chicago. With regard to the upcoming races, Bob Tasca III says, “I’m thrilled to have NewAutoParts.com back as the primary sponsor for the Four-Wide Event. We also have three other primary sponsors that I will be announcing soon for the remaining events.”

Looking forward to his return to the dragstrip, Bob III is happy to be answering the demands from NHRA Ford fans who want to see more Ford Funny Cars on the track.
“I get emails and see social media posts nonstop asking why Ford pulled out of NHRA Funny Car racing. I talk to the executives all the time and, trust me, the Ford family and many people within the company love the NHRA Ford fans. I firmly believe that one day they will come back and support their fans and their teams. Until then, the Tasca Family will do whatever we can to keep the passion alive for the Ford fans.”

The four upcoming races, Tasca Racing will be joined by sponsors BG Products and Nitro Fish.
“I’m excited to announce that BG is on board for all four races as an associate sponsor. BG is new to the sport of drag racing. We use BG products throughout our dealerships. They provide a tremendous value to our customers and I look forward to helping build the BG brand within the NHRA fan base.”

“Nitro Fish will also be on board for all four races as associate sponsor. Kenny Koretsky has developed a wild apparel line in the Nitro Fish brand and has helped many racers over the years with funding,” says Bob III. “Kenny is a long-time friend and I’m proud to be officially on the Nitro Fish Team!

Tasca will use Charlotte as starting point to build momentum for the 2016 season. “With limited funds it’s hard to find the budget to test. We’re focused on going to Charlotte to get our setup dialed in on Friday and Saturday. We have a lot of data from that track and I feel confident, come Sunday, we will have a car that can compete for the win!” states Tasca.

Tasca Ready to Trade Suit and Tie for Firesuit at Countdown Kick-off in Charlotte; Plans to Play Role of Spoiler Perfectly with Six Races Remaining

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 12, 2013—Bob Tasca is ready to trade his suit and tie for his Motorcraft/Quick Lane firesuit for this weekend’s start to the NHRA Countdown to the Championship, where he’s ready to play his role of spoiler perfectly.

“It’s time to look forward, not back,” said Tasca, who learned that lesson from NHRA Pro Stock legend Bob Glidden before Tasca was even old enough to race. “That’s something important we talk about a lot on this Motorcraft/Quick Lane team. Racing these days, the points are too close and the teams are all too good to expect to drive over your competition every week. Sometimes things won’t go your way but you have to keep working at it.”

Tasca missed this year’s Mello Yello Series playoffs by just four points in a fight that went down to the last race of the regular season.

“We didn’t expect it to be easy,” said Tasca, a sixth-year pro driver from Hope, R.I. “That’s why you have to do the work every week and get yourself in the best position you can, so you won’t be where we were (in Indianapolis), and we know that. We’ve had a consistent car this year, we just haven’t had much luck on race day. Every week my guys are giving me a car that can win and we’re ready to do that.”

After the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, Tasca and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane team went straight to Rhode Island for the 16th-annual Tasca Ford Mustang Car Show, an event that draws more than 250 cars and “charges” donations of cans of food for the Rhode Island Food Bank for admission.

Tasca’s Ford Funny Car teammates John Force and Tim Wilkerson also attended to help entertain the crowd.

“I can’t thank John and Tim enough,” Tasca said. “The U.S. Nationals is such a grind and to do something like coming up to the car show right after really shows a commitment to the fans up here. For a lot of them, it’s the first time they’ll see an NHRA Funny Car fire up. After that they’re hooked. Now they can actually go to a race, in Epping (N.H.) next year.”

From there, Tasca went to Dearborn, Mich. for a week of meetings at Ford Motor Company, where he sits on a special committee that reviews new products and gives the company advice on what will sell.

Although serving on the committee is an honor, Tasca’s ready to race.

Coverage from the Carlyle Tools NHRA Nationals airs on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 from 3:30-5 a.m. ET (qualifying) and 8:30 p.m. ET (eliminations) on ESPN2.

Tasca Racing

At 16 years old, Bob Sr. started his first job at a Ford dealership. He opened his own Ford dealership at 27. Seventy years later Tasca Ford still exists, run by the second and third generations of the Tasca family. Tasca, FordParts.com Funny Car Team Qualify Ninth, Take on Hagan in Round 1 in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 15, 2012–Bob Tasca III qualified p9 on the strength of a 4.124-second pass at 307.09 mph he clocked in the FordParts.com Ford Shelby Mustang Funny Car Friday at zMAX Dragway near Charlotte.

Tasca, driving the FordParts.com livery for the second and final time this season, faces Matt Hagan in round one of the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals Sunday at the “Bellagio of Drag Strips” in Concord, N.C.

“We’re ready to play spoiler in the Countdown to the Championship (playoffs),” Tasca said. “We qualified solidly in the field. This FordParts.com body brought us luck in Bristol with a No. 1 qualifier, so we have good history with it. We’ll see what we can do here in Charlotte tomorrow.”

No Such Thing as ‘No Pressure:’ Tasca, Motorcraft/Quick Lane Team Ready to Make Noise as Spoilers in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 13, 2012–There’s no such thing as a “no pressure” situation in motorsports, according to Bob Tasca III. Not even when you start the Countdown to the Championship playoffs as a spoiler.

“You are always under pressure to perform,” Tasca said. “This ain’t driving to church Sunday morning. This is the real deal and there are real consequences. It takes real energy to succeed. That’s where we live, under pressure.”

Tasca and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Shelby Mustang Funny Car team, currently 12th in points, narrowly missed making the 10-driver NHRA Full Throttle Series playoffs after losing in the first round in Indianapolis. The six-race NHRA Countdown to the Championship playoffs begins this weekend with the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals at zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, N.C.

They won’t try anything out of the ordinary in this stretch, Tasca said. Instead, they’ll focus on the basics it takes to win races.

“Our goal is to finish the season strong,” Tasca said. “That will mean everything to our team, to end on a high note. At the end of the day, I’m racing to compete for a championship. To not be able to do that is gut-wrenching, but you can take that energy and turn it into negativity or you can take it and be positive. We choose to make it positive.

“I’m excited about being in Charlotte. It’s a place where we’ve done well and conditions will get better and better as the season unfolds and the temperatures get cooler. I’m excited about going to these next races and playing spoiler. We’ll go out and make as much noise as we can, and learn as much as we can to put ourselves in position to win.

“To perform is everything to us. When you don’t perform, you just didn’t get the job done. All you can do is get up off the mat time and time again. The champions have all been on the mat before and they’ve risen again. That’s what we’re doing.”

Tasca, Motorcraft/Quick Lane Team Hungry for More after Runner-up Finish in Las Vegas

CONCORD, N.C., April 12, 2012–A runner-up finish makes a competitive driver hungry, so it’s no surprise Bob Tasca III and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Shelby Mustang Funny Car team are looking for a win this weekend at the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway.

Tasca comes to Charlotte fresh off of a runner-up finish in Las Vegas, where an all-Ford final saw Robert Hight win his third-consecutive Wally. Tasca just missed winning at zMAX last year, where he runnered-up at the 4-Wide race.

Momentum is high in the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing pit.

“We’re riding high going into the 4-Wide Nationals but I always try to take Bob Glidden’s advice not to let the highs get too high or the lows get too low,” Tasca said. “We’ll stay on an even keel and go to Charlotte ready for anything.”

After taking first-round losses at the first three races of the NHRA Full Throttle Series, Tasca won his first, second and third rounds of the year in one race – the first for Crew Chief Dickie Venables, Tasca’s longtime friend who joined sitting crew chiefs Chris Cunningham and Marc Denner at the controls just in time for the trip out west.

The chemistry was instant, the three gelled and are now one team with one mission, to win those close races that have so often gone in the opposing teams’ favor.

“(Dickie) balances out the personalities of Chris Cunningham and Marc Denner and really brings that new dimension to the team,” Tasca said. “It’s been great to watch them all work together and talk about the new ideas Dickie has. We’re all excited now about seeing what our Motorcraft/Quick Lane team can do.

TASCA, FORDPARTS.COM TEAM HEADS TO DALLAS AFTER WEATHER PROVES GAME-CHANGER IN CHARLOTTE

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 18, 2011 – If you’ve ever wondered how finicky an NHRA Full Throttle Series car can be, take a look at the data from the first round of the event at zMAX Dragway in Concord, N.C. – a session that proved yet again how important weather conditions are in preparing a Funny Car.

Teams prepped for the overcast skies and cool temperatures they’d seen for the entire two days of qualifying – conditions that persisted through pre-race and the first pairs of Round 1.

Then came an oil down.

IT’S HERE! NHRA COUNTDOWN TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFFS KICK OFF IN CAROLINA RACING COUNTRY

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 13, 2011 – It’s time to bring the big bat.

This week’s NHRA Full Throttle Series race at zMAX Dragway near Charlotte officially kicks off the 2011 Countdown to the Championship playoffs, when the top 10 drivers in each category will throw everything they have at making the perfect start to the end of the year.

Bob Tasca III will be there to win with his Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Mustang Funny Car and knows now is the time to go the distance – especially at the same track he runnered-up at earlier this year. It’s his team’s home track, too. Tasca Racing headquarters is just down the street, in the heart of the Carolina racing country.

“These races back-to-back-to-back will set teams up for the championships,” said Tasca of the Charlotte, N.C.-Dallas-Reading, Pa. string of races the Series sets off on this week. “The weather conditions in Charlotte are supposed to be similar to those we had there in the spring. We’ll draw from some of that data; give ourselves a chance to do well this weekend.”

SECOND PLACE IN CHARLOTTE: RUNNER-UP NEVER SO SWEET

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Bob Tasca III and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Shelby Mustang Funny Car team came within 0.017 seconds of winning the VisitMyrtleBeach.com NHRA 4-Wide Nationals, on the Ford Mustang’s 47th birthday.

It was a fantastic finish for a team that has struggled both with mechanical gremlins and on cool weather weekends, and this race offered a bit of both.

BOB TASCA III AND TASCA AUTOMOTIVE WIN FORD’S HIGHEST AWARD

Charlotte, N.C. – What would Bob Tasca Sr. have thought?

Where would he have watched, had he been at the Tasca family dealership he founded in the 1960s, as Brett Wheatley, director, Marketing, Ford Customer Service Division, handed the highest award Ford gives to dealers, the bar for which was practically invented by Bob Sr. himself, to his Tasca Automotive family?
